Candied Peach comes from MSP Coffee’s crown jewel, Orchardale Estate, nestled at an elevation of 1500 MASL. Crafted with precision by Navin & Ashok Rajes, this coffee was originally processed to shine in espresso brewing, but we felt this remarkable lot deserved to be enjoyed by all coffee lovers.

After nearly a month of meticulous experimentation, we developed the ideal omni profile, ensuring that manual brewers could indulge in the same delightful experience as espresso enthusiasts. Candied Peach showcases a funky character that offers a rich body, complex fruit and floral notes, and exceptional clarity across all brewing methods. Unlike many funky coffees that can blur flavor distinctions, this unique offering surprises with its vibrancy, allowing for easily distinguishable flavor notes that dance on the palate.

This cup offers a dance of both fruity and floral expressions with citric aromas of nectarine leading to notes of candied peach, magnolia and hibiscus. The sweet malic acidity dances off a rolling, buttery mouthfeel all culminating in a long and sweet finish. This fruit bomb offers great clarity in pourovers while the rich, viscous tactile in espresso does not overshadow its well-defined fruity characteristics.

The processing for this coffee began with the careful selection of cherries from the Camp Thundu field at Orchardale Estate, with Brix levels of 18 and above signifying their peak sweetness. These cherries then underwent an extended fermentation process lasting 190 hours, allowing for deep flavor development and complexity. Following fermentation, the beans were air-dried for 72 hours, effectively removing excess moisture and preparing them for the next stage. They were then meticulously shade-dried over a period of 27 days to ensure the beans reached the ideal moisture content.

About the farm

Orchardale Estate is the newest addition to the MSP group of properties, affectionately known as the baby among all the estates. It ranks as one of the highest coffee plantations in the Shevaroys, with fields that rise between 4,700 and 5,000 feet above mean sea level. The bauxite soil is rich and deep, yielding exceptional coffee and oranges, exhibiting great potential for producing their best coffee yet. Most of the planting area faces west and features newly planted varieties of Arabica, including Chandragiri, S.5B, and S.9.

Additionally, Orchardale Estate is home to the highest campsite in the Shevaroys, capable of accommodating over 50 people, with regular training camps held for both children and adults. The sunsets here offer a truly magical experience, creating unforgettable memories for all who visit.
