Barrel aged coffee can be two things – a well-crafted gimmick or a well-crafted specialty coffee. And obviously, our focus is on achieving the latter. It’s a difficult coffee to roast but, when done right, it can reveal a completely different spectrum of flavors. The combination of woody undertones with boozy flavors may not sit perfectly on all palates. But if you’re an adventurer who appreciates intense surprises, this is a coffee you just shouldn’t miss!

This coffee features bittersweet notes reminiscent of dark rum, enhanced by undertones of black currant and the distinctive taste of Jujube fruit. It concludes with an unexpected smoky twist, offering a bold and daring flavour experience for adventurous coffee enthusiasts.
At Harley Estate, the process of creating this whiskey barrel-aged coffee begins with the careful selection of Selection 9 coffee cherries. These cherries are then aged for 8 – 10 weeks in Amrut Whiskey Barrels, where they absorb the rich boozy aromas and flavors. After aging, the cherries are removed and dried on raised beds, accentuating their development and enhancing their unique flavor profile.
