In the South of Ethiopia at a height of over 1500m grows a very special coffee under the shade of the mountain trees. Named after the province of Yirgacheffe, this coffee is categorized as a regional type and trademarked by the country itself. The “Coffea Arabica” plant first originated in Ethiopia and legend goes that a goatherd noticed the energizing effects of the plant that took over his flock transforming them to what he referred to as his “singing goats”.
Yirgacheffe beans are small and greyish being much more elongated than Arabica beans from the Americas. Widely regarded as a very high-quality coffee, we believe that the initiation into coffee connoisseurship begins with a cup of exotic Yirgacheffe.
